Ingredients

- 375g / 13.23oz ready-rolled Puff pastry
- 2 tbsp heaped Mascarpone
- 70g / 2.5oz grated Cheese
- 1 beaten Egg
- freshly ground Black pepper

Preparation

1. Preheat the oven to 200°C fan (220°C/425°F).
2. Take the 375g / 13.23oz ready-rolled Puff pastry out of the fridge to come to room temperature.
3. Unroll the pastry sheet and spread 2 heaped tbsp / 28g Mascarpone evenly edge to edge.
4. Grind freshly ground Black pepper over and sprinkle 70g / 2.5oz grated Cheese.
5. Fold the pastry in half lengthways and press down lightly.
6. Cut into strips around 2.5cm / 1in thick and twist each strip.
7. Place on a non-stick baking tray and brush with 1 beaten Egg.
8. Bake for 15-20 minutes until puffed and golden.

Good to know

These twists are most delicious served warm. They can be frozen for up to 3 months, either before or after baking. Bake frozen twists for 20-25 minutes, or reheat baked and cooled twists in a hot oven for 5-10 minutes to defrost and reheat.
