How it works
The beginning

It rarely starts with a recipe. It starts with questions.

Parents starting solids are seldom short on motivation. What's missing is a reliable order to do things in. GrowwW is built around these four questions.

When do we start — and how will I know it's time?
GrowwW asks how old your child is and where you are right now, then begins there. No calendar already running before you're ready.
Which allergens, in what order, and how often?
The allergen cards cover the fourteen major allergens that must be labelled in the EU: what to offer, in what form, and how to keep it in regular rotation.
What makes a good first bite — and what isn't one yet?
Every food card shows preparation and texture by age, and says plainly what can wait.
And how do I know we're getting anywhere?
Two short check-ins a week. No score, no streak — just what your child has met so far.
How it works

Three things GrowwW takes off your hands

  1. It puts things in order

Instead of a list with everything on it at once, GrowwW shows what this week is for — matched to your child's age and to what they've already met. What isn't due yet stays out of view.

  2. It explains each food properly, once

Cards for foods and for allergens: texture and preparation by age, what to watch for, and what can wait. Written to be read at the counter while you cook, not as a course to complete first.

  3. It keeps a record of what you did

A short look back on Wednesday and on Sunday — what your child tried, what went well, what you want to offer again. Two minutes, not a logbook.

Preparation

The same food, four different ways

Carrot, as the app shows it: puréed, as finger food, cubed, at the family table. Not “carrot from 6 months”, but what that means at six months — and what it means at twelve.

  1. A small bowl of smoothly puréed carrot, photographed from above.

  2. Two soft-cooked carrot sticks on a white plate, photographed from above.

The photographs show form and texture — not portion size, and not a safety instruction. Whether a given piece suits your child depends on what they can already do. In the app, every food and every age band carries the cues alongside it: how to judge texture and doneness, and how your child can grip it.

In detail

What's in the app

Four areas that work together — not a box of features.

  • Coach — today and this week

The plan in weeks rather than days. You see what's due now, and nothing has to be ticked off for things to move on.

  • Knowledge — foods, allergens, background

Cards for individual foods, for the fourteen major allergens, and articles on the topics that genuinely raise questions when you start solids.

  • Diary — what your child has met

A list that grows over time. In two years it's a memory, not a statistic.

  • Wednesday check and Sunday check

Two fixed moments in the week to look back. If a week doesn't get one, nothing happens.

The cards work without a signal — useful in a kitchen.

Knowledge

Allergens belong early on, not at the end

The most common worry when starting solids is the order to introduce allergens in. So the cards in GrowwW don't treat them as a special case — they treat them as part of an ordinary week of food.

Allergen cards

The fourteen major allergens that must be labelled in the EU, each with texture, preparation, and how to keep offering it regularly.

Good to know

Articles on iron, on the window for introducing solids, on gagging and choking, and on the move to the family table.

Food cards

Individual foods with preparation by age — from the first purée through to eating at the family table.
